Katy kicked off her album release day with a beam of light:

Mario Lopez introduced Katy Perry to kick off the night, and she started things off with a 'Roar,' quite literally, performing the #1 smash to a room full of fans who knew all the words.

She told the audience that as an adult, "Your biggest bully becomes yourself... Sometimes you gotta find that inner strength and stand up for yourself. That's why I wrote it, to find my own voice."

After her roaring entrance, Katy joked with Mario Lopez, telling the crowd that she can't help but put her finger in Mario's dimples when she sees him. (We don't blame you Katy, how could you resist!?)

In addition to calling the album her 'most personal' and 'most relatable' yet, Katy gave her fans some quirky tidbits about the album. "There is maybe one typo on my whole record," she told the crowd, adding, "If you find it you get a cookie!" Another fun fact: The special edition of PRISM available at Wal-Mart includes a sample of her fragrance Killer Queen and a PRISM logo that, when planted, grows wildflowers! Nice touch.

Throughout the night, Katy performed three more new songs from the record: "Dark Horse," "By The Grace Of God," "This Moment" and "Unconditionally."

She sang a stripped-down version of the trappy, edgy "Dark Horse" - which usually features Juicy J. - which she says is about 'Witchy Love' and inspired by 90's cult classic The Craft

She also performed emotional ballad "By The Grace Of God," which Katy says was the first song she wrote for the record and probably her 'most vulnerable.' Although the song starts off sad, Katy says, "You hear me find my strength through the song."

Katy also sang "This Moment" live for the very first time, a song she says was inspired by a book she recently read, The Power Of Now: A Guide To Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle.

Mario Lopez quizzed Katy with rapid fire questions. Her favorite song to sing in the car? Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." The most famous person in her cell phone? "Miley Cyrus. She's the most famous person in the world right now!" The three must-have items in her purse? "Sometimes I carry around an empty purse." All in the name of fashion!

Wait, that's not the whole story. Speaking of an empty purse... Katy revealed to the crowd that the first time she attended the Grammy Awards, she shared a dressing room with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. "I asked them for a lock of their hair, and I put little bows in it." She then put the famous strands into her otherwise empty purse for the remainder of the night, declaring, "I'm a freak!"

Katy Perry closed out the night with the second single, "Unconditionally," which Katy calls "the crown jewel off the record."

"It's about this universal love that we all search for. Love is the highest emotion that we live our lives for." Today, Katy, everyone is loving you!
